Good day all!

How is life at home? So I heard about a crazy blizzard in OKC during Christmas! I cannot believe I missed it! I am super jealous!

I enjoyed Christmas with the Central gang. We all went to Gorongosa for the holiday! We had so much fun! It was really nice to be around friends on Christmas. I would have loved to be with my family but that really wasn’t an option. Although my family did call me and we got to talk for about an hour! I love phone time with my family!

Upon returning home from our mini vacation we discovered that our house was broken into. ONLY my stuff was taken. My ipod, DS, headlamp, and electrical converter (which didn’t work so I hope the losers who took it can’t charge ANYTHING of mine) were taken from my room. I was sad to lose my things but I am ok now. But a crazy thing happened… they didn’t take my computer which was underneath my ipod and DS.

The same day we got home we went to our director’s house down the street. We needed to tell him what happened. He was so very worried about us. The next day at 8 am there were guys here measuring our windows and doors for bars. I have never seen anyone in Mozambique get anything done that fast!

For New Year’s the roommate and I just stayed at our house. We could only be away from site one of the two holidays. We had to make ourselves stay up until midnight. We had an Office marathon. I guess it was pretty fun! I will defiantly remember how I celebrated 2010. Cannot believe it was in Mozambique… that is sooo cool!

So school starts next Friday (January 15th). I am getting excited! I really want to know which grade I will be teaching so I know what material I will be covering. Today I walked to the school because I needed to chat with my director and I got to talk with some of the students… it was awesome!

I don’t have any big plans for the last two weeks of freedom. I think I will just try to enjoy the free time while it lasts. I hope everyone is doing well!

  1. Hi Meghann,

Just wanted to say I loved your Christmas Tree and stocking pictures. It's really cold here today 17 degrees. The snow from last week still hasn't melted. It's really been a different kind of winter. Your mom and I played Santa to Grandma and Grandpa B. She'll have to tell you about our technical abilities trying to put Dad's recliner together. We also gave them designer cane's. Dad's was camoflauge and Mom's was pink roses. I know you will be impressed. Miss you like crazy but it appears you are doing well with so much going on. I'm sure you are excited about your new class can't wait to here about it and your kids you will be teaching. You are one in a million and I'm so excited for you and your adventure. You are the best neice ever!
